It seems like a lifetime ago when my life consisted of diapers, monthly check ups, no sleep and spit up. My daughter is 8 years old now but I can remember it like yesterday. I was a young mother and had no idea the amount of time, patience and love it would take to raise a human. I had quite the wake-up call when she was born. I remember gravitating towards mothers, trying to pick their brain for any tips or helpful information that could make it a little easier. But looking back the one thing no mother ever prepared me for was the difficulty of trying to be a good attentive mother but still keep your sanity and sense of self. When you are a mother, you no longer can be selfish. EVERYTHING you do revolves around your child and whether they are cared for and loved. So in the midst of this daily routine, women sometimes forget the woman they once were. Sweatpants, minimal makeup, occasional shower if your lucky; these are now reality. So how can new moms get their Sexy Back? Keep reading on my tips to help you step into the new role as a MILF.
Step by Step Beauty Guide
To achieve a flawless finish and reduce the appearance of pores, apply a primer to your skin. You will also need to apply a base to your eyes for your eyeshadow. Don’t forget the lips! Apply a lip balm to moisturize and prep lips before applying lip product!
Check your brows, trim if necessary and fill in where needed! I love to use Anastasia of Beverly Hills Brow Wiz pencil. It has a brush to smooth out crazy hairs and is easy to apply.
Apply eyeshadow making sure to use the appropriate brush for flawless application. Use proper blending to ensure clean lines and transition when using multiple colors. I love MAC 217 Brush for blending. If any shadow falls on the face, clean with a face wipe before applying concealer or foundation. Apply liner then lastly mascara. Don’t forget lashes!! My personal favorite is Ardell Glamour Lashes-102.
I recently did a fun Photo Shoot with my good friend Lisa with Lisa Wise Photography. Every time I get the chance to take pictures with her whether it’s to test a new camera or just for fun, I always say YES! There is nothing more refreshing then a good laugh sesh with a friend or your lover. Not only do you FEEL GOOD afterwards but you get the ab workout of the century! It’s so hard sometimes to remember to be silly and live in the moment when we are bombarded with bills, work stress, house chores and just daily adult life! Wouldn’t it be so nice to be a kid again? Well you can at least act like one. Grab some snacks at the store & watch YouTube fail videos with a friend. There’s nothing better then watching people hurt themselves. This may sound cruel, but it’s true!! Or better yet, Grab a pack of beer, lay out a blanket in your back yard and reminisce with a friend about the good ol’ days. There is bound to be some laughter replaying the memories of bad wardrobe choices and old flings you would like to forget. Life is so short and when it gets overwhelming, sometimes a good laugh can bring you back to that warm feeling and remind you whats important.
In order to feel healthy and confident, everybody needs to take the time for themselves. This means catering to your appearance and giving your body a little TLC. There are days when I feel like complete dog poop. Everybody has those days when you just want to hit the OFF button and hide out in your house for a while. When I find myself in this state of mind, I put on some Beyonce and give myself a pedicure and chill out. Now this may not apply to everyone. You may not like Beyonce or you may not like feet. The point is, it’s important to take the time to do things for yourself that make you feel good. So whether that is taking a bath accompanied by a nice glass of wine or giving yourself a nice facial, the more you take time to treat yourself to some “me time” the happier you’ll be!
Surround yourself with Positivity
One of my favorites. I feed off of good energy and vibes and I am an optimist at heart. Some of us are destined to see the glass half empty. It was engrained in us as children from our worrisome parents or due to unfortunate experiences we’ve had. One of the biggest lessons I have learned in the past few years is this. Energy has power. When we put positive energy into the universe, we will attract the same energy into our lives. It’s impossible to live a healthy life when all we expect are negative outcomes. This also applies to the people in your life. Surround yourself with vibe killers and your destined to feel negative. Surround yourself with happy souls, and you will live a more positive and happy life.
Calling all females! This is one of the biggest battles out there. We are all guilty of either using too light of a foundation leaving our face looking ghostly, or wearing a shade a bit too dark. It’s a struggle for every woman at some point. I often get asked by my girlfriends how to find the right shade and what foundation is good for their skin. I do! I do! Every year my love does an amazing job at spoiling me on this holiday and for that I am grateful. Good job babe! It got me thinking about men and the pressure to get his lady just the right gift. Now men, this is really simple. Listen closely…It’s the LITTLE THINGS. Now this statement doesn’t apply to all scenarios, but in this particular case I am referring to acts of love and effort that show you care. So when you are brainstorming about what to get your dime piece, think hard guys. Real hard. Maybe she was complaining about her wardrobe recently. Yes you’ve heard the same story before, but hey she’s dropping hints and you should pay attention. The single most important thing women want from a man is to know they are listening. We want to know you pay attention to us. Yes, we can nag once in a while, but hey we have to deal with your stories about trucks and watch Gold Rush. When are they going to hit the “mother load” for the love of pete?!! So this V-Day dig deep guys. Deep into that brain of yours and try to remember conversations with your lady. This will help tremendously. When you hand her that sparkly bag, she will be the happiest lady on the planet!

Happy Fitness Friday everyone!
So when I came across this exercise move on popsugarfitness.com, I was thrilled! It was something new I had never tried and I loved that it targeted the abs (which I struggle to fit in my fitness routine) and the glutes! I personally work out at home because I find that I can easily fit a workout in my schedule and it also allows me to have my daughter at home while I workout. This move is perfect for at home so I give it a double thumbs up! After trying this Core & Booty killer, I couldn’t believe how many other areas it targeted as well. Prepare to sweat people!

Beauty Rules. Every girls got her favorites. Here are my Top 5 Beauty Rules!
1. Removing Makeup- It is vital to use a good makeup remover and most importantly to remove makeup before bed! I sometimes break this rule if I have had a cocktail or two and hit the sheets quickly or if I’m just plain lazy. Don’t lie, you have too! A cleanser will not remove all the dirt, oil, and makeup from the day. I like to remove my makeup first with a wipe and then cleanse the skin. There are so many makeup remover products out there but I prefer to use Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes from Target. These face wipes contain no perfumes, dyes or harsh irritants so they are great for sensitive skin. They remove even the heaviest eye makeup and leave skin feeling soft.
Super Tip: Never pull or tug at your eye or under eye area when washing or moisturizing. This can loosen the skin and cause under eye bags. Instead carefully wipe or dab this area to prevent signs of aging early!
2. Moisturize- We’ve all heard this! I think some people make the mistake of not moisturizing because they feel it will cause excessive oil, but this is the biggest myth out there! My face sometimes feels like an oil slick, gross I know, but I still moisturize morning and night. Also make sure to pick a moisturizer that accommodates to your skin type and age. I am hitting my 30’s and I never thought I would be so worried about wrinkles but the struggle is real!
Super Tip: Don’t be afraid to switch up your moisturizing routine! The season changes can cause our skin to react in different ways causing more dryness or oiliness. It may take a time or two to find the right combo but your skin will thank you!
